The King’s Group Vision and Mission:

“Our Vision is to be at the forefront of British Education Internationally” Our mission is to provide high quality British education that delivers a transformative learning experience to all our pupils. Engaging and effective teaching based on our core values and the best, most up-to-date UK educational practice enables children at our schools to achieve their academic ambitions and lifetime careers. At the same time we nurture their individual talents and emphasise the importance of educating the whole child with attention to their physical, emotional and social development. We are determined to make a positive difference to the future of our pupils and their families, the careers of our staff, as well as contributing to the wider community

King’s College Murcia  (KCM) is a growing ‘through’ school of almost 500 pupils, with provision from Pre-Nursery (18 months) to KS5. We are inclusive and non-selective (in Early Years), including pupils with a wide range of needs. Approximately 80% of our pupils are of Spanish heritage and therefore have English as an additional, or second, language. In contrast to our local competitors, we are a British school, offering a language ‘immersion’ experience for our pupils, in keeping with our Group mission ‘…to provide high quality British education…’

Our school follows the National Curriculum for England and Wales and enters pupils for International GCSE and A-Level examinations. It also provides elements of a Spanish education, following programmes of study stipulated by the Spanish Ministry of Education.

Pupils join throughout the year (Year 2 being statutory school age in Spain) coming from a variety of local schools, where expectations can be very different from KCM and levels of English vary.  Those who join us in later years will generally have a better grasp of the English language, particularly for Secondary entry. Pupils leave and join throughout the year, with on average 95% of pupils moving up from EYFS to Primary and then approximately 80% moving up to Secondary.

Kings College Murcia is located at the La Torre Golf Resort near Roldan in Southern Spain and is now in its eighth academic year. Polaris World made the commitment to complete and open the second new building for the commencement of the new school year in September 2008. This building is now fully operational and the College now accommodates approximately 500 pupils from Pre Nursery up to Year 13. In 2013/4, we had our first Year 13 cohort complete their A2 level examinations in preparation for University entrance. King’s Group officially took ownership of the school from Polaris World in September 2014.

The school follows the National Curriculum for England and Wales in the same way that has been established at King’s College, Madrid. The latter has gained an enviable reputation not only in Spain, but also in Europe and the wider world for the high quality of education offered to its pupils.

From September 2014 the college has a two form entry from Pre-Nursery through to Year 6 and, as it evolves, there will be a two form entry for all Secondary classes up to a maximum of 750 pupils in the school.
