The motto on the school crest is ‘Let there be peace on Earth’ and the diverse nature of the school community means that the true spirit of internationalism flourishes here. Since first opening in 1977 BISAK has grown into a large, internationally renowned, non-profit making school with 723 students from around fifty nations. These children and young people, from three to eighteen years of age, benefit from the dedication and hard work of our teachers, governors and support staff who work together to create a caring, personalised learning environment.
The School has received accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS) and BSME and is one of a few schools in the Middle East yet to achieve this. The accreditations are a well deserved recognition of the hard work and dedication of the BISAK community. The teaching staff at BISAK are our greatest resource and we are fortunate that we have such highly qualified and experienced individuals. The quality of teaching and learning within the school is first class and the students benefit from a holistic education that helps prepare them for lives in a rapidly changing, globalised society. One of our objectives is to ensure that students develop the skills to become lifelong learners and we work hard to ensure that students not only achieve excellent academic results but also enjoy their learning and acquire the social and emotional skills they will need throughout their adult lives.
The British International School Al Khobar is an educational community that provides diverse and challenging learning experiences. BISAK follows the English National Curriculum combined with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and delivers IGCSE, GCSE and A-Level examinations at the end of KS4 and KS5. The school endeavours to motivate students to develop the belief that they can succeed. The school aims, through its international environment, to inspire everyone to be positive global citizens by reflecting upon equality, community service and peace. All are welcomed and valued as unique individuals.
To support our Mission Statement the school’s objectives are to:
- Provide individualised, academically challenging learning experiences in a safe and supportive school environment;
- Develop the skills to allow students to become independent, effective lifelong learners;
- Foster values of commitment, integrity and respect for self and others;
- Nurture an appreciation, respect and a sense of responsibility towards the natural world.
